spiritual director. triune-God worshipper. Scripture-savourer.

Why "extraverted contemplative"? Well, I love being with others and I gain energy by being with people. Of course, this has been tricky with the COVID restrictions this past year, so I am learning how to embrace more solitude as a gift and not a punishment. As for contemplative, that part doesn't come naturally, but I am drawn to pray in ways that tap into my intuitive, quieter side.
Teach. Encourage. Listen. Create. Betrothed. Those are five words that have been significant in what I feel God has called me to do and be. I am a pastor at Glencairn Church in Kitchener, Ontario (glencairn.ca). I am also a spiritual director and enjoy providing a safe, confidential space for people, especially Christian leaders, to process their inner life with God. In addition to leading prayer retreats and facilitating small groups. I relish any and all opportunities to pray with others.
I have my Master’s of Theological Studies from Tyndale seminary and am a Certified Spiritual Director. I appreciate the gifts of many of the various streams of Christianity and have attended different churches over the year, but continue to resonate most deeply with Anabaptist theology (Glencairn is affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren denomination - don't think horses & buggies - not that brand of Mennonite).
I live in the small, beautiful town of Elmira, Ontario with my husband, Gord. We have three adult children, two in-laws and one cute, but sometimes temperamental and needy dog, Cooper.
I can get stuck on words and mull them over like a throat lozenge. Words like: Abundance. Jesus. Cultivate. Coffee. Laughter. These and many more are life-giving for me!
